US TV judge Paula has previously dismissed suggestions that she didn't get on with Cheryl, who is celebrating her 28th birthday, by saying how much she admires the Girls Aloud singer.
Now she has tweeted: "Wow it's already June 30th! Happy Birthday to the beautiful and multi-talented Cheryl Cole! I miss your fiery sweetness!"
She added: "You're the very stuff of stardom sweetheart - I'm anxiously waiting with open eyes and ears to see what you have in store! Love u! xoP.
Reports suggested that TV bosses were unhappy about a lack of chemistry between Paula and Cheryl, who was replaced on the line-up by Nicole Scherzinger.
Cheryl, who has been snapped with a new blonde hairdo, is set to hold a star-studded birthday party on Friday.
Other messages poured in on Twitter, including bandmate Nicola Roberts, who wrote: "Happy Birthday Chezzabelle xxx"
