Tanning Mom Child Endangerment

Tanning Mom Child Endangerment, The New Jersey mom who allegedly took her 5-year-old daughter tanning — and later was dubbed “Tan Mom” due to her tangerine tint — hasn’t gone tanning in weeks. Now she feels “pale and weird.” Poor thing… Despite declaring that the second-degree child endangerment charge against her wouldn’t stifle her daily tanning “errand,” Patricia Krentcil has abstained from hitting the tanning bed for a month, and recently showed off her new, ivory look to InTouch magazine, which apparently didn’t get the memo that this woman’s 15 minutes expired about two months ago.

“Once a doctor told me to stop tanning. But I didn’t listen to him,” Krentcil tells InTouch. “I like looking like I just got back from vacation.”

Krentcil was arrested in April after authorities got word that she took the 5-year-old tanning — something she says she’s been doing almost daily for more than 10 years.

Krentcil admits that she did bring the girl to a tanning salon, but swears her daughter was never exposed to dangerous UV rays. She says burns found on the girl’s body happened when she was playing outside.

Krentcil says she considers her tanning regimen to be an errand, and she simply brought her daughter along like she would when she runs any errand. As we mentioned, she claims the girl was never exposed to the bright lights of a tanning booth.

“It’s like taking your daughter to go food shopping,” she said earlier this week. “There’s tons of moms that bring their children in.”

The misunderstanding, she claims, happened after the 5-year-old told people at school that her mother had taken her tanning. The theory is a teacher overheard the girl talking about going tanning with her mother and called police.
